
BTO Scotland Free Bird Survey Taster Days
The Building Bird Monitoring in Scotland Project is funded by SNH, The Gillman Trusts,BTO and SOC. It aims to encourage as many people into bird recording as possible. The project emphasises the importance of volunteering and runs free training courses for participants interested in taking up bird surveying.
- Saturday 26 September 2009 Great Glen House, Inverness - Introduction to Bird Atlas and other bird surveys
- Saturday 24 October 2009 Chatelherault Country Park, Lanarkshire - Bird identification and an introduction to winter surveys
- Sunday 8 November 2009 Gartmorn Dam Country Park, Clackmannanshire - Bird identification and an introduction to the Wetland Bird Survey
- Saturday 21 November 2009 Battleby Centre, Battleby, Perthshire - Bird identification and winter surveys for beginners
- Wednesday 3 March 2010 Loch of Skene, Dunecht Estate, Aberdeenshire - Wetland bird recording for landowners and land managers
These Bird Survey Taster days will be running in the autumn and winter of 2009/2010. Contact robin.anderson@bto.org to reserve a place. Alternatively, call 01786 466560. The courses have proved to be very popular so book early to avoid disappointment.
